The Most Revd Justin Welby became Livability’s President in 2013. His knowledge of disability issues, especially in the context of community, and empathy with people with disabilities, means his support for the charity is hugely valued by the Livability community.
The Archbishop says, in connection with his support for Livability: ‘People with disabilities have much to offer to our local communities, workplaces and to society in general’, adding that they ‘face real financial hardship and unacceptable barriers when trying to access education, training, housing, transport and the care they require’.
