St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square, London was filled with special guests, supporters and friends for Livability’s annual Christmas Carol Service.

The service, which has become Livability’s biggest Christmas event, was hosted by The Reverend Canon Roger Royal, while St. Martin’s Reverend Colin Midlane welcomed guests to the evening.

Special guests were invited to perform readings, including actor Julian Glover who recited ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ by Christina Rossetti. Livability Trustee Brian James, Pastor Tony Uddin from the Livability Link Church programme and Holton Lee Director Neil Stevens also gave readings.

The evening also featured special performances from the London Symphony Chorus and soprano soloist Mary Plazas.

Students from Nash College, Livability’s further education college in Bromley, Kent performed a rendition of ‘Step into Christmas with Me’.

Livability CEO Dave Webber led prayers and offered reflections on the future of Livability and the essential role friends and supporters play in the Livability community:

‘As a charity driven by a strong Christian ethos, Livability is inspired and challenged by the Christmas story. Inspired, because we know our charity’s work is only possible thanks to a wonderful community of service users, staff, volunteers, donors and friends. Every member brings something important and unique to Livability.

‘I am proud of Livability’s rich heritage but am also excited about its future because of the support, hearts and prayers all the Friends and supporters of Livability that make what we do possible.’
