The Grand Shaftesbury Run returns for second edition

May 17 2012

After the success of the inaugural The Grand Shaftesbury Run, it returns for a second edition on Sunday 27th May 2012 at the beautiful Shaftesbury estate in Wimborne St Giles, Dorset.

There is both a half marathon course and a 10km run, and those participating will be hoping to beat the impressive £8,000 raised for charity at last year’s event.

The Sparkle Appeal, an initiative at Livability’s Victoria Education Centre in Dorset to raise funds for a much needed hydrotherapy pool and therapy centre, is one of the official charities for this year’s run.

Everyone is welcome to come and cheer the runners on, and fingers crossed the torrential downpours will not be making a reappearance this time around. Either way, rain or shine, it promises to be a great day for a number of important causes.
