Kate is a qualified teacher who retired from full-time teaching in 2010. During her career, she taught in mainstream and special education, where she found a passion for the rights and development of SEN children. For 15 years she was a member of the senior leadership team as deputy head teacher at Stony Dean, a successful secondary special school for students with complex intellectual disabilities. Since her retirement she has worked as an independent educational consultant and adviser on conditions such as autism and dyslexia. She continues to use her skills, underpinned by her Christian faith, both locally and nationally.
