Victoria Education Centre shortlisted for two prestigious schools awards

Livability Victoria Education Centre – a school for young disabled people run by Livability – has been shortlisted for two 2017 TES Schools Awards.

Formally announced today by the Times Educational Supplement, Victoria has been shortlisted for:

• Alternative-provision school of the year
• Digital innovation/educational technology school of the year

The prestigious annual TES Schools Awards, now in their ninth year, are the largest school awards ceremony in the country and recognise the outstanding contribution to education made by teams and individuals both inside and outside schools.

Based in Poole, Livability’s Victoria Education Centre offers specialised, high quality education, therapy and care for young people with physical and learning disabilities aged between 3 and 19. Within Victoria’s vibrant and innovative community, students are enabled to develop life skills to prepare them for life beyond education.

Simon Brown, headteacher for Livability Victoria Education Centre said:

This is a fantastic acknowledgement of the amazing work all the staff, volunteers and friends at Victoria do, how they make such a difference to the lives and future success of the students.’

Last year, Victoria won Art and Drama teacher or team Award at the 2016 TES School Awards.

There are 17 awards categories in the TES Aschools Awards, and the winners will be revealed this summer at a sequin-filled dinner and awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, on London’s glamorous Park Lane.
