George, 25, who lives in Tower Hamlets has just heard that his dream of taking part in the opening or closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games has become a reality.
George has just been told that he has been selected after successfully completed the audition process to become a Ceremonies Volunteer Performer in the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
George has been a resident at Livability’s Grove Road since March 2011, after previously living in Devon for 6 years. Grove Road is a supported living service for adults with learning difficulties based in Bow, Tower Hamlets and is part of Livability’s Lifestyle Choices – London services.
George said: ”I am really delighted to be part of such a great event. I am a big sports fan and I enjoy performing and expressing myself in front of others. I really wanted to be involved in the London Olympic Games in some capacity and being a volunteer at the opening or closing ceremony is the perfect role for me!.’’
George will now start a series of rehearsals to get ready for the event.
