Livability’s work is always enhanced and enabled with an amazing network of supporters and volunteers. Across the country they help by befriending those we support, cheering at sport events, or speaking and sharing our cause with others.
Altro are a are one of our corporate partners, who share their people and time with Livability to lend a hand at our services around the country.
Altro is an international manufacturer of high quality flooring and wall cladding solutions. From hospitality to healthcare, wet rooms to commercial kitchens, the company look at environments and people’s needs to ensure flooring and walls best support the people using it.
They work closely with architects, customers, engineers and designers to transform everyday spaces that improve the wellbeing of the people using them. Altro have worked with Livability as a supplier on projects at a number of locations, at Livability Bradbury Court, Livability Dolphin Court and Livability’s Spinal Injury Centre.
When the Altro Foundation was launched last year they invited employees to volunteer one day a year. Employees since have been building relationships with Livability Keefield Close and Livaiblity New Court place.
Most recently the team have been gardening at Livability Keefield in Harlow. The service is a residential home for ten disabled adults. Residents enjoy exercise classes, a sensory garden and a calm, supported environment.
The team’s volunteering efforts were focused recently in the garden.
Sandra Wilson, Manager at Livability Keefield said:
“The guys did an absolutely fantastic job. They did so much work and we very much appreciate it. Any of you are welcome any time – and so say all of us! Word cannot express our gratitude enough! Thank you so very much!”
The work is greatly appreciated by the service who benefit from having extra pairs of hands on site to get the garden tidied up and cleared before the winter sets in.
In 2018, 17 employees from the sales and marketing teams have took part in volunteering with more due to talk place across gardening, arts and pet therapy sessions.
We look forward to working with the team in 2019.
