On 21 April 2020, Livability launched its Emergency Coronavirus Appeal, asking supporters, the public and the government to protect the health of people with a disability.
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted life for us all as we seek to protect against its harsh effects. For the people within our care services, however, there is almost always a higher risk of life-threatening complications if the virus is contracted, even though the majority are not in older life.
For more than 170 years Livability has been on the frontline, providing care and support for those with profound health needs who call Livability their home.
Sally Chivers, Chief Executive said “In the first three weeks of April 2020 has already spent an unprecedented quarter of a million pounds on Personal Protective Equipment in order to maintain government guidance and keep the people we support and our staff safe.”
This appeal aims to bring in £1m through public donations. In addition to its need for PPE Livability seek to enhance the ability of its residents to connect with loved ones through technology.
