The Livability community loves a party and we’re very excited to host our Big Lunch in June 2023 – won’t you join us?

Communities will come together to celebrate friendships and connections with a street party, BBQ, afternoon tea and a host of other social, fun activities.

Inviting people to host a Big Lunch can encourage people to overcome anxiety and loneliness, get sociable and get to know each other better.

The Big Lunch is the perfect opportunity to celebrate spring with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

What is Livability doing?

Livability services had a blast party-planning in 2022, re-connecting with their loved ones and communities, celebrating their support throughout the pandemic as they were able to finally come back together and enjoy celebrations over the special Platinum Jubilee weekend.

You’re not limited to a lunch – maybe you’d like to organise a coffee morning, Mad Hatter’s tea-party, tea-dance in your community hall, cake stall at work, dinner party or full-on street party!

We can help you to make your event safe, legal, a great fundraiser and brilliant fun!

Why is Livability joining in?

The Big Lunch supports our work in several ways:

• It’s a great opportunity for people we support to discover their community.
• We can take time to thank all those in our community who support a Livability service .
• Services invite local volunteers, businesses and community organisations; the families of people we support; churches and clubs, for friendship, understanding and skills sharing.
• Celebrating together will build relationships in communities around our services. A key part of the charity’s strategy is to strengthen local bonds and make the most of what communities can offer to Livability and vice-versa.
• They can help people overcome anxiety about meeting others to socialise.
• It’s an opportunity to raise our profile and fundraise as a national charity and as individual, local services.
