In memory gifts

In Memory gifts are special tributes to those you love.

They can mean so much at a time of sadness and provide a tribute that will last for years to come.

When a loved one dies, you may wish to suggest that family and friends give an In Memory donation to Livability instead of flowers at the funeral.

You may like to instruct the Funeral Director to request “No flowers. Donations to Livability (formerly John Grooms/Shaftesbury Society).” Please ask them to forward all donations to Livability, 6 Mitre Passage, London, SE10 0ER, marked clearly “Gifts in Memory of X”.

We will send acknowledgements to the Funeral Director and a family contact.

Or, if you would like us to send you donation envelopes or Gift Aid donation forms to help you collect gifts at a funeral or memorial service, please email our Supporter Services team at or call them on 020 7452 2121 (Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm).

You can now fundraise in memory of a loved one online via justgiving. You can highlight memories of a loved one through pictures and words as well as raise money securely through a justgiving page in memory.

Livability also has a special page on charity website MuchLoved where tributes in memory of loved ones may be made. It is an online place to remember a loved one, a place where tributes, life stories, memories and photographs may be posted. You can request that donations made there should be passed to Livability.

MuchLoved also has links to bereavement organisations and other places to go to for support as well as an online forum where you can share experiences and find help.

Some people may wish to set up their own charitable fund in memory of a loved one. There are legal fees and many other things to consider. You can find full guidance and forms here
