Small patches of wildflower meadows surround my house, they are a pleasure to photograph in Spring and then to paint throughout the year, plus they suit an impressionist approach. This postcard is oil on board and captures the subtle beauty of the flowers without going into details. My aim is to give a sense of what I am seeing rather than a direct portrayal of it.
Emma has worked for Livability Holton Lee for 10 years. 25 years ago, Emma completed her art degree which included studying how art is used within a social context and community setting. Even though she doesn’t have as much time for it these days art is still a big part of Emma’s life and she loves to paint the countryside in an impressionist style.
