'Oh what a glorious thing to bee!' by Clare Sewell

About the artwork

With her passion for nature and local landscape, this postcard brief was a great opportunity for Claire to observe the bees in the Dorset meadows and to get her acrylic paints out! Claire took inspiration from the vetch flowers and the busy bees enjoying the nectar. Using the bright greens of the grasses and the vibrant purple of the flowers, this piece hopefully portrays the wonderful colours and activity seen throughout the sunny months in our hedgerows, gardens and meadows.
