Brackley and Northampton Dance School, Step by Step,are holding a Strictly Come Dancing style competition to raise money for national disability charity Livability.
The charity runs a local service for disabled people, Lifestyle Choices East Midlands, which helps disabled people live life to the full and supports them in becoming more independent and in accessing educational and recreational activities. The service is based at the Buckingham Road industrial estate, Brackley, Northants.
Training for the competition started on 23rd July. Lifestyle Choices East Midlands, manager Mandy Himpson is taking part in the competition with her colleague Ross Potter
People taking part in the challenge have to commit themselves to a six week training program. The dancing lessons are free and provided by Step by Step. Participants will train with semi-professional ballroom dancers and will be able to become experts in samba and tango.
The dancers will perform at a special Dance Evening on 31st August and 1st September at Waynflete Hall in Brackley.
The organisation of the lessons and Dance Evening will be managed by Step by Step.

I am also really excited by the idea of taking part in the competition this year with my colleague and we have all started training really hard!”
The competition is in its third year and last year the event managed to raise around £3000 for Livability, as the charity had three people dancing and raising funds for them, this year all 18 couples are raising money for the disability charity.
