Livability Enterprise Agency inspires and supports disabled and disadvantaged people into self-employment.

We provide one-off workshops as well as longer training courses which cover core entrepreneurial skills like business planning, book-keeping and marketing. Once a client’s business is launched, we can also provide up to 18 months of mentoring.

Although the enterprise agency is a new service from Livability, the team has many years of experience and has helped launch over 150 businesses. Today we are one of only two UK agencies which specialise in working with vulnerable people.

Case Study

When Jean Mozley was introduced to our enterprise team, she was recovering from acute pancreatitis and had been unable to work for two years. She’d always been a keen amateur bee-keeper and had an idea for how to turn her passion into a business.

Working with her advisor, Jean developed a business plan for the UK’s first bee-keeping academy. We helped her with book-keeping and publicity and guided her through the benefits system.

Bees 4 U was launched in early 2010 and is still going strong. Jean’s business trains people in the art of bee-keeping and she also sells both bees and honey.

“Now I’m fully recovered, I dont feel vulnerable at all,” says Jean. “My business is going from strength to strength and I can honestly say that a large percentage of that success is down to my Enterprise advisor.”
